ISOA is delighted to share its plans for its renewed commitment to the ISOA Women, Peace, and Security Certification program for 2023.

• Three WPS Training modules, including two provided by WPS consultants Kilo Alpha Strategies
• WPS evening forum and reception on Capitol Hill, with members of the bi-partisan WPS Congressional Caucus
• One-day event in Gettysburg PA in May, with speakers from the Peacekeeping and Stability Operations Association (PKSOI) and the Army War College, and a staff ride of Gettysburg National battlefield
• WPS event featuring the official USG WPS Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) from DOD, DOS, USAID, NSC, and DHS, presenting their priorities and funding in support of the WPS law
• A variety of webinars throughout 2023 featuring topics such as the radicalization of women by extremist groups; the heroic women of Libya, Afghanistan, and Ukraine; and the crisis of child sex trafficking
• Continued WPS panel discussions at ISOA conferences in 2023
• Evening gatherings/networking events for WPS-certification participants who have achieved ISOA’s WPS Certification

ISOA’s first formal WPS training session will be held on March 3, 2023 at 9 AM ET. WPS participants will be briefed by Amanda Van Dort of the U.S. Department of State. This virtual training is through the U.S. Government lens, and provides an excellent introduction to the tenets of WPS. Additional trainings – through the lenses of civil society and of academia – will be offered during 2023.

Please note: the Women, Peace, and Security Working Group, first stood up in 2018, will become the WPS Committee, and is open to everyone with an interest in supporting the imperatives of WPS. Please contact ISOA WPS Committee Chairman Michelle Quinn to become a member of ISOA’s WPS Committee.
