People Initiatives and Humanitarian Operations Lead for the Civil Solutions business Unit, SOS International

Amy Marden is the People Initiatives and Humanitarian Operations Lead for the Civil Solutions business unit of SOS International and serves on the Combatting Human Trafficking Committee for ISOA. In 2021, Amy founded and ran the non-profit REACT DC to respond to the Afghan evacuation humanitarian crisis. REACT DC has grown to support the legal, employment, and social service needs of hundreds of refugees and newcomers a month, and Amy remains dedicated to our allies’ resettlement as President of REACT DC’s Board of Directors. She is also the Senior Advisor for Strategy and Operations at Moral Compass Federation, which supports the missions of over twenty-five veteran-led nonprofits. Amy formally held a federal clerkship for the Northern District of Florida assessing the validity of incarcerated persons’ last right petitions, after which she transitioned to pro bono legal assistance. From 2010 to 2013 and 2017-2020, Amy served as a resource and referral liaison for the U.S. Navy domestically and abroad, working with military families facing reintegration hardships after multiple tours in Iraq, Afghanistan, and at sea. Amy is a Florida-licensed attorney, author of Mirror, Mine and The Parts We Lost, and 2024 Presidential Leadership Scholar.
