COL Walter Richter

COL Walter Richter is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and has served as the U.S. Army Attaché at the U.S. Embassy in Berlin, Germany since 2020. His previous assignments include U.S. European Command, U.S. Office of Defense Cooperation in Slovakia, U.S. Special Operations Command, Department of the Army, as well as operational assignments as an armor officer. As a U.S. Army Foreign Area Officer, COL Richter has extensive experience in international cooperation, security assistance, and foreign military sales. COL Richter is a 2021 graduate of the Air War College (Distance) and holds a Master of Operational Studies (2007) from the USMC School of Advanced Warfighting, a Master of Strategic Studies (2006) from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College where he earned the Benjamin H. Grierson Award for Excellence in Strategic Studies., and a Bachelor of Music (1994) from the University of Miami.
