LTG Tony Aguto, USA (Ret)

Former Commanding General of SAG-U and President , Global Strategies and Consulting LLC

Lieutenant General Tony Aguto (Retired) is the founder of Global Strategies and Consulting, LLC which is focused on Ukraine-Russia, NATO and the Trans-Atlantic Relationship, Training, Global Logistics and Leadership. He recently retired from the US Army after 36+ years of Service, most recently serving in the United States European Command as the Commanding General of the Security Assistance Group Ukraine (SAGU) and NATO Security Assistance and Training Ukraine (NSATU).

A 1988 graduate from the United States Military Academy, Tony commanded First US Army, responsible for the readiness of the Army’s National Guard and Reserves, 3rd Infantry Division, 7th Army Training Command (Germany) and the Train, Advise, Assist Command-South (Afghanistan). He has worked extensively at the Army’s Training Centers in the US and overseas, while assisting our Eastern European Allies in developing their readiness and training centers in Ukraine, Romania and Georgia. He has commanded in combat both in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Tony’s education includes a BS in Aerospace Engineering from the United States Military Academy in NY and a MS in National Security Strategic Studies from the Naval War College in Newport, RI. He and his wife Melanie reside in North Carolina.
